I'm having Playback issues with certain movie files. How can this problem be corrected?
The .mov files of Lessons One and Two must be played in QuickTime only. Make sure you have the latest version of QuickTime for Mac or Windows installed. The .mp4 files in Lesson Three can be played in any player that will play MP4s. QuickTime X is recommended for Mac.
Can these videos be played on either a Mac or PC?
Yes, the .mov and .mp4 files can be played on either a Mac or PC.
Will the DVD play on my TV using DVD Player?
No. Our training DVDs are not DVD-Video format. The .mov and .mp4 video files contained on your DVD-ROM (or delivered via download) are playable only on your computer using the software recommended above.
Do I need to be a Photoshop expert to follow these tutorials?
Not at all, but it is recommended that you have some knowledge of the basic Photoshop features and functions.
Will I need a graphic tablet to create paintings using your techniques?
Yes, it is highly recommended that you purchase a tablet for this kind of digital artwork. I would recommend a medium-sized tablet in the Wacom Intuos line, along with an Intuos art pen.
What version of Photoshop do I need to be able to use your techniques?
I recommend using Photoshop CS5 or later. Lesson One in the MTDC series can be followed using any CS version of Photoshop. Lessons Two and Three contain content specific to CS5 and later.
My brushes don't look or behave like your brushes in the video. How can I fix this?
I recommend uninstalling your tablet driver, then reinstalling the lastest version. Here are some videos that give instructions for uninstalling a Wacom driver on a Mac or a PC. If you're using a Wacom tablet, you can download the latest driver here.
If you're working in Photoshop CC, you'll want to make sure your graphics card meets the minimum requirements shown here. If it doesn't, you may want to use an older version of Photoshop, like CS6.
Also, I would strongly recommend using the art pen designed for your tablet. This way, stylus rotation will be indicated in your brushstrokes.
How do downloads work?
You can purchase product dowloads by selecting the "download - no delivery fees" option on the product page. Once your purchase is complete, you will receive an email from "SendOwl Downloads" that will contain a link to your downloadable file(s). It is recommended that you download each file separately to completion instead of using the "download all" option. These are somewhat large files and may take a little time to download - please be patient. They will be available for download for a period of three days, but it is recommended that you take delivery as soon as possible. A high-speed internet connection is recommended.
If the download time is excessive, you may wish to contact your internet service provider.
Your single product may be divided into two or three separate downloadable files (i.e. pt.1, pt.2 and pt.3). This is to make individual files smaller and easier to download. Once downloaded, you may wish to combine them into a single folder on your hard drive. You’ll want to be sure to back up these files as well.
The downloaded versions of our training products contain the same content as the DVD versions.
You may wish to read this information if you use a Windows OS and are having difficulties downloading.
Where will I find my product downloads?
Typically they will be in your "downloads" folder. If you're using a Windows OS, you may want to review this information.

Unfortunately you are. Deardorff Training is not responsible for customs fees imposed by your country. You should be aware of your country’s import laws and any required fees before ordering.
How long will it take to receive my order?
All orders are shipped within one business day after payment is made. Shipments to addresses within the U.S. will normally arrive 2-3 business days after the post office receives the package. International orders will usually take 6-10 business days following receipt by the post office.
How can I track my order?
Customers within the U.S. will receive a post office tracking number once a package is shipped. International customers will not be able to track shipments as the post office doesn’t provide this service for International Priority Mail.
